Stafford County’s Paul Milde Looks To Hold His Seat In Purple Stafford County

Stafford County, VA-

Former Supervisor Paul Milde announced his intent to return to the House of Delegates for a second term this week. Milde, a serial entrepreneur with a strong focus on the construction industry, prides himself on his business acumen and the values of hard work and vision that have driven his success.

A vocal critic of bloated government and excessive tax burdens, Milde has fought tirelessly to repeal Stafford’s BPOL tax, halt the unpopular boat tax, and oppose burdensome regulations. His consistent advocacy for taxpayers reflects his deep commitment to reducing government inefficiency. Milde’s entrepreneurial roots influence his belief in smaller government and fiscal responsibility, while his support for law enforcement and public safety highlights his dedication to lowering crime.

A staunch defender of quality education, Milde has worked to ensure that all children receive the best possible education, without yielding to the influence of teacher unions or far-left policies. He remains firm in his belief that education should empower students, not indoctrinate them. “As a conservative, I remain steadfast in my support for smaller government, for law enforcement, and for ensuring parents have a voice in the education of their children,” Milde stated.

Milde brings invaluable experience, a deep understanding of his community, and the ability to raise the necessary funds to fend off challengers in the competitive purple district of Stafford County. With national trends influencing local politics, Milde’s seat is a key target for Republicans hoping to regain power in 2025. As the race heats up, logic dictates that holding onto Delegate Paul Milde’s seat is crucial for any Republican ambitions in the coming election cycle.

Paul V. Milde, III has called Stafford County home since 1989. He was first elected to the Stafford County Board of Supervisors in November 2005 and served three terms, concluding his tenure as Chairman in 2017, representing the Aquia District. In his capacity as Aquia District Supervisor, Paul held several influential positions, including:

  • Chairman of the Board’s Community and Economic Development Committee

  • Member of the Infrastructure Committee

  • Appointed by Speaker of the House William Howell to the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation

  • Former Chairman of the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO)

  • Member of the George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC)

  • Member of the Stafford County Museum and Cultural Center

  • Member of the Potomac Watershed Roundtable

  • Former Chairman of the Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board (R-Board, Vice-Chairman)

  • Member of the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC)

  • Former Chairman of Virginia Railway Express (VRE)

  • Chairman of Stafford Technology and Research Park

Paul has long been a champion for environmental preservation, particularly in protecting the Crow’s Nest Peninsula. As the founder and chairman of SaveCrowsNest.com, a campaign to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving the peninsula, Paul led efforts to establish the 2,872-acre Crow’s Nature Preserve during his time on the Board of Supervisors. Additionally, his advocacy for Stafford County’s Transfer of Development Rights and Purchase of Development Rights programs helped protect thousands of acres of land.

A committed community leader, Paul is a member of the Aquia Harbour Lions Club, the Izaak Walton League, a Rotarian, and a supporter of various local organizations, including the Hope House, Habitat for Humanity, and the Scouts. He also supports the Stafford Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Stafford and Fredericksburg.

In addition to his public service, Paul owns and operates CIP Finishes, a successful business located in Stafford County. An avid diver, he is certified by the National Association of Underwater Instructors as both a scuba diver and an Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) diver. Paul is also a licensed pilot.

Paul is married to his wife, Irina, a small business loan underwriter, and together they live in Stafford. They are the proud parents of a son, Travis, and two daughters, Bailey and Olivia. Paul is an active member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church.

During his tenure in the House of Delegates, Milde served on several influential committees, advocating for his community and shaping policies to benefit Stafford County:

VAREDWATCH has this as a Toss-Up.

The race in the 64th District is considered a toss-up due to its highly competitive nature and the district’s purple political landscape. While incumbent candidates have strong local support, recent shifts in voter sentiment, coupled with national political trends, have created a volatile environment. The district’s demographics, which include a balanced mix of Republican and Democratic-leaning voters, make it difficult to predict a clear winner. Additionally, both parties are heavily invested in this race, ensuring a high level of competition and significant campaign spending. These factors contribute to the uncertainty surrounding the outcome, making the 64th a true toss-up.
